Unite & Thrive: Harnessing Group Power and Consistent Actions
Jun 14, 2024We're already in the middle of June, and it feels like the first half of the year has flown by! Maybe you felt the same?
As part of my burnout recovery and prevention of further burnouts, I’ve embraced nurturing activities like yoga. Last month, I decided to join a daily yoga challenge. With a convenient yoga app, I could enjoy a session anywhere, anytime.
After just three days in, they notified me that I was in the top 20% of participants— I was surprised that many didn’t complete the first 3 days.
Two weeks later, I was delighted to find certain stress-induced symptoms, related to my previous burnouts had vanished. It was nothing short of AMAZING!
By the third week, I felt an increase in strength and flexibility.
On Day 24, I found myself among the top 9% of challengers.
In the final week, on some days, I found it challenging to continue, especially as I was traveling and didn’t have my yoga mat. On those days, I borrowed courage from the thousands embarking on this challenge.
I felt like I was in a collective field and this supported me on those hard days.
I had compassion for myself and I allowed myself to do a few shorter sessions and on two days, I was only able to practice yoga nidra (yogic sleep).
But I persevered.
On the last day of the challenge, I was so invigorated that I began encouraging family and friends to create our own June yoga challenge. I didn't want to stop and I've still been continuing a daily practice.
My stats:
• 25 minutes of yoga and 5 minutes of meditation for 28 days equaled 840 minutes.
• On two occasions, I managed 15 minutes of yoga and 5 minutes of meditation, totaling 30 minutes.
• I also indulged in two sessions of yoga nidra, amounting to 25 minutes.
In total, that’s 895 minutes or nearly 15 hours dedicated to self-care in one month.
Group stats: Over 82,000 individuals joined the May challenge, collectively completing 1.1 million practices. That’s over 350,000 hours of collective commitment.
I was among the 10,000 individuals who completed a practice EVERY SINGLE DAY in May.
This principle of the cumulative effect can create a ripple in your business.
Consider the time you allocate weekly for your venture.
Even a modest half-hour daily can make a significant impact.
30 minutes × 7 days = 210 minutes weekly, or 3.5 hours, which translates to 14 hours over a month.
Imagine the progress your business could make with a consistent dedication of 3.5 to 5 hours weekly over several months or a year.
Envision your goals and the heights you aspire to reach.
Remember, this journey is a marathon, not a sprint.
Some weeks you might invest 1-2 hours, others 4-6 hours.
Perhaps eventually scaling up to 2 or even 5 days a week.
Every minute contributes to your journey, inching you closer to a thriving business.
Lao Tzu, the ancient Chinese philosopher, wisely stated, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.”
Reflect on the steps you’re taking today, this week, this month, and this year.
What steps are you planning for the second half of the year?
Where will you be by the end of the year with consistent time spent on your business?
Remember each step, you’re closer to your goals…
Take it step by step.
Three Lessons for the Entrepreneurial Spirit:
Lesson 1: Consistency is Key
Consistency isn’t just about showing up; it’s about committing to a process that fosters growth and resilience. In the realm of entrepreneurship, this translates to setting aside time for your business, even when immediate results aren’t visible. It’s the steady rhythm of daily actions that build the foundation of a successful enterprise. Just as daily yoga strengthens and revitalizes the body, regular attention to your business strengthens its potential and vitality.
Lesson 2: Small Steps Lead to Big Changes
The journey of entrepreneurship is made up of countless small steps. Each day, you make decisions, take actions, and forge connections that may seem insignificant on their own. However, when compounded over time, these small steps can lead to transformative changes. They are the seeds from which the forest of your success will grow. Embrace the power of incremental progress, and trust that every effort contributes to the larger picture of your business’s evolution.
3. Together We Rise: The Power of Group Challenges:
Engaging in group challenges harnesses the collective energy and support of like-minded individuals. When we unite towards a common goal, our individual efforts are magnified, and we can achieve more together than we ever could alone. This unity not only fuels our drive but also nurtures our resilience, ensuring that together, we can weather any storm and reach new pinnacles of success.
May your entrepreneurial journey be as fulfilling and transformative as a daily practice of yoga.
Let the power of cumulative efforts guide you to manifest your dreams into reality.
Step by step, breath by breath, you are creating a world of impact.
