The forecast said rain… but I went anyway.

The forecast said rain… but I went anyway.
I was born in the shadow of the mountain, and from the time I could walk, we took family hikes up its slopes.
Even as a toddler, my dad carried me on his back until I could scramble over the rocks myself.
No matter where I’ve lived, I’ve always longed for the mountain’s steady presence.
Looking up at it grounds me, reminding me that it was here long before me and will be here long after.
Last Friday, we had a public holiday, and despite the forecast predicting rain, I felt the urge to take a walk up the mountain.
I invited my family along, and we set off on a simple route—one that wasn’t too strenuous but still rewarded us with breathtaking ocean views.
The weather? Warm, overcast and a little humid. But the predicted rain didn't arrive while we were on the mountain.
Instead, we saw wildflowers, saw new paths, and reconnected with old family traditions.
My father entertained my nephew with stories of past hikes, and my brother turned to me and said, “We should do this more often.”
And that’s when it hit me: I had trusted my intuition, and it led to something wonderful.
How often do we hold back in business because of a forecast of uncertainty?
We tell ourselves, “Now isn’t the right time,” or “What if it doesn’t work?” when deep down, we already know the answer.
The path may not always be perfectly clear, but sometimes, the best thing we can do is take the first step anyway.
So, what is your intuition telling you in business right now? And are you willing to follow it?
Here’s to trusting the path—even when the forecast says rain.
