In the pursuit of our dreams, the habits we cultivate play a significant role. Have you assessed whether your daily and weekly routines are propelling you towards your goals?
For me, a weekly tradition with my parents has become more than just a habit – it's a cherished ritual that has shaped our lives in profound ways. Every Friday, rain or shine, for the last three years, we embark on a sunset walk by the sea. What began as a means to escape the confines of our homes during the pandemic, has blossomed into a source of mental solace, physical activity, and familial connection. There is something about walking by the sea that is so refreshing and uplifting. There have been times when the rain has been almost horizontal and there was only one lonely runner ahead of us but still we walked. At other times, we basked in balmy sunshine before the peace and tranquility of stunning sunsets with seagulls flying by.
My mother, especially, values this tradition as a beacon of light amidst life's challenges. She has adamantly insisted on preserving our weekly rendezvous, reminding me of its importance even in the face of conflicting commitments. Rain or shine, wind or calm, we honor our pact to walk together, finding solace in the crashing waves and the setting sun.
Through this simple yet meaningful habit, I've not only deepened my bond with my parents but also cultivated a sense of consistency and resilience. We've welcomed others into our fold, inviting visiting friends and family to share in the beauty of our seaside strolls.
