It's not for everyone...

Jan 20, 2025

This weekend, I spent a wonderful time at my sister’s beach house with my family.

When we arrived, we could feel any stress or worries simply melt away.

The house offers uninterrupted views of the ocean in various shades of blue.

You could smell the sea and hear the waves crashing on the rocks and shore.

One morning, we took a group walk down to the beach.

One of our group remarked that the beach wasn’t their favorite place because it wasn’t how they grew up.

They didn’t like the feel of sand between their toes and preferred forests, rivers, and lakes to connect with nature.

For the rest of us, who did grow up near the sea, blue skies, rolling sand dunes, the smell of the ocean and sunscreen evoke many happy memories.

I personally love the feel of my feet sinking into the soft, white sand and find the sea deeply restorative.

Neither their preference for the forest nor mine for the ocean is right or wrong.

They’re simply different.

Similarly, in your business, it’s important to stay true to yourself.

Your story, your approach, and your vibe will attract those who resonate with you.

But just as the beach isn’t for everyone, neither are you—and that’s okay.

Get comfortable with this idea so you don’t take offense when some people choose not to engage with your business.

Their reasons don’t really matter—whether it’s because your background, story, or approach doesn’t align with theirs, at that particular time.

What matters is that by being authentic, you’ll naturally attract those who are meant to connect with you.

Be your authentic self and attract your people,

Lenore
