Desperation Doesn’t Attract Success!
Jan 31, 2025
As I set my intentions for this year, I reflected on some of the goals I had set toward the end of last year.
When I re-read them—after a much-needed break—I realized there was an air of desperation in my requests to the universe.
Desperation doesn’t attract the best options!
At best, it may offer a temporary fix.
At worst, it can lead to even greater challenges.
If you’ve ever felt cornered with limited options, maybe you can relate?
At the time, I wasn’t seeing the full range of possibilities available to me.
Instead, I was considering the first opportunity that promised stability, even if it wasn’t the right fit.
Thankfully, I didn't go for it.
I trusted that something better would be available for me.
I appreciate that the universe showed me that possibility.
It gave me greater clarity on what I do want.
For those of us who have experienced early-life trauma, moments of uncertainty can trigger a deep fear response.
I know this well.
When faced with difficult situations, I sometimes go into fight-or-flight mode.
That’s when I remind myself to slow down, regulate my nervous system, and create a sense of safety first.
Only from that grounded place can I make decisions that truly serve me.
Now, after a restful summer, I have much more compassion for my earlier self last year.
I can see that I was simply seeking safety and stability.
And, my intentions for this year are from a much more relaxed and open-hearted place.
Business Lessons
1. Create Financial Stability
Having a financial buffer helps you navigate uncertain cash flow periods with confidence. It allows you to make decisions from a place of security, rather than scarcity.
2. Detach from the Outcome
When you make offers in your business, do so without desperation. When you aren’t attached to the outcome, you can invite clients in with ease rather than pressure—making them far more likely to say yes.
Here’s to creating safety and stability in our businesses!
