A Butterfly After the Ashes
Feb 28, 2025
On Sunday night, wildfires broke out on the Table Mountain range.
By Tuesday, strong winds had carried the flames toward the City Bowl, where I live, and other areas.
The air was thick with smoke.
Ash and fire debris blew into my home, forcing me to shut my windows.
That night, I fell asleep to the distant hum of helicopters as firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the flames.
By Wednesday morning, I could no longer see the mountain—only dense, lingering smoke.
But later that day, as the fire crews gained control, the sky began to clear.
And that’s when I saw it, just as I opened my window.
A butterfly, flitting through the garden outside.
After days of fire and destruction, this delicate creature danced in the sunlight—a quiet but powerful reminder that even after devastation, life continues.
Hope remains.
Whatever challenges you may be facing, in life or business, know this: even when things seem uncertain or difficult, there is always hope.
The sky will clear.
The mountain will reappear.
And somewhere, a butterfly will remind you that all is well.
